Breaking News: Milbank Announces Associate Bonuses

Well, Milbank just became the first firm to announce associate bonuses since the big salary hikes last year.

And associates and law students do not seem very happy at all.

See here.

UPDATE: Someone on Greedy Associates says this is fake. However, the IPs of at least one of the posters in that thread confirming the memo did trace back to Milbank, so if it was fake it was a pretty good job.

UPDATE #2: Yup, it's fake, and a Milbank paralegal has fessed up to it. I must say, this was one of the most well thought out hoaxes I've seen, at least in the execution (though I'm not sure how smart it was to post flame from work to make it look authentic).

My dad sent me an e-mail today to the effect that there was an article in the Wall Street Journal today about associate bonuses. I haven't seen it yet, and i won't be able to see the copy he cut out for me until i fly back home for break, but in light of the news about Milbank's bonuses it's probably worth taking a look at.
