NJ Quote of the Day
Regarding New Jersey's unanimous decision holding that gay couples must be provided with an institution providing equal benefits to marriage (the court split 4-3 against whether said institution had to be called "marriage"), John Cole writes:
Someone get the FRC on it right away.
I think the 4-3 split on the name of the game obscures a much more important fact about this case. It ruled unanimously that gay couples needed to be provided with equal rights, in an opinion written by a Republican-appointed judge. For the first time, this position provoked no dissent among 7 learned justices of a variety of political views.
